Spirituality

Artist Statement:

Fallon Rabin channels spiritual energy, letting the universe decide what’s created. She surrenders to her practice, allowing higher powers to guide her, eliminating expectations. A multidisciplinary artist, Rabin creates sculptures, mixed media, paintings, and drawings. This mindful work becomes more than art: a place for healing, change, peace, love, and light to flourish. Her work is her church, her connection to the creator. As part of her daily practice, she meditates for inspiration and universal healing. Rabin’s visions during meditation is the starting point for her practice. She creates what she is led toward, hoping to illuminate those needing help. Exploring various materials, including oil/acrylic paints, metal, wood, glass, essential oils, and resin Rabin conveys soul connection to others.

Landscapes

Artist Statement:

When I look at Yosemite I see more than just its beautiful waterfalls, landscape, and majestic sceneries. Yosemite is not just the sacred lands that it's known for, but also the spirit of the wildlife that inhabits it, and the legacy it holds. A place for healing, joy, sorrow, birth, death, growth, freedom, laughter, and spiritual awakening. The very essence of the native species are within the park's natural landscape. I see traces of these species in every rock, plant, soil, and stream I encounter. Their energies make up this incredibly special place. The preservation of such a place is vital for the entire ecosystem as the landscape, wildlife, and humanity are connected. While painting The Spirit of Yosemite my intention was to exemplify the importance of preserving both the majestic landscapes, and the endangered species that depend on Yosemite to thrive. The legacy and preservation of the park is depicted within the rock formations of the Falls by imbedding endangered species spirits in them (Sierra Nevada Red Fox, Bighorn Sheep, Sierra Nevada Yellow Legged Frog etc…). From afar it looks as though it is just the grand iconic Yosemite Upper Falls, but as you get closer and look deep into the crevasses of Yosemite, you'll see so much more life below the surface. Yosemite metaphorically teaches us about ourselves as humans and allows us to look deep below the surface of our being to glimpse at our own true natures. For over a decade, I've been on a mission to protect wildlife and the environment through my art, and advocate for our spiritual connections to them. My dream for this painting is to help bring awareness for the preservation of Yosemite in its entirety, and its continued legacy as a National Park.
