The third piece in the "Of My Heart" collection is inspired by a trip to Anacapa Island with my dad and brother. On our way, we encountered a strange, portal-like fog hovering over the water—a rare and sacred sight on an otherwise sunny day. We stopped our boat, sitting silently in awe of this natural phenomenon. It felt like stepping into an "in-between" space, as though the place itself was alive, communicating through the elements of water and air. In that moment, I felt a spiritual soul connection with nature, a gift from mother nature that quickly vanished like a whisper in the wind.
 
This painting reflects the need to protect Marine Protected Areas (MPAs) so that sacred moments like this can continue to exist. By preserving these habitats from overfishing and pollution, we ensure humanity and nature can coexist and thrive in harmony.
