Sea turtles hold a special place in my heart, shaped by my time volunteering at La Tortuga Feliz in Costa Rica and scuba diving in Bonaire. This piece captures a magical encounter with a Green sea turtle during a dive with friends. As it swam by, time seemed to stand still—its slow, graceful movements and curious gaze felt like a heart-to-heart moment, speaking a language of love and connection. Sea turtles face threats from habitat loss, pollution, warming waters, and poaching. My hope is that this painting inspires others to protect these incredible creatures and their habitats.
